My favourite wild animal of this prairie environment is this guy….the only “antelope” native to the Americas. We see them everywhere here on the Canadian plains, despite farming, barbed wire fences and highways. In reality, these beautiful animals are a “thing” all on their own, their closest genetic relative being the giraffe! Their adaptations are their incredible speed (we call them “Speed goats”) and their eyesight…8 times that of humans. If pronghorn is your animal totem, you’re quick-witted, intensely curious, and possibly even clairvoyant.
