Denizens of the Silver Sage

Raised on a ranch in Southern Alberta, I was a bit of a wild prairie child. Our summer pasture was expansive, wild, native prairie, with prickly pear, sagebrush, tipi rings and buffalo wallows.  We owned a few bison briefly, and had a baby pronghorn as a pet. Our dad was a true naturalist who knew and valued all the birds and beasts.  A rancher manages the grass and resources like his life depends on it, because it does!

That landscape, those animals are in my bones, which is why they keep coming out on the end of my paintbrush.
