Though I live on the east side of this beautiful province, scenes like this one are merely a couple of hours drive away. These mountains produce the pristine waters of the Waterton and Old Man Rivers, along with countless other incredible natural blessings. Springtime sees a cascade of colour and variety of wildflowers and the sun-shiny face of the Balsam Root is just one of a dazzling array.

These cousins of the sunflower have a deep tap root which results in the hardy resilience to drought and fire.

Spring is on it’s way again, and I need to get to the foothills and mountains and hit the “refresh” button.
