Don’t you just love the old main streets, especially in the American west? Las Vegas, New Mexico, just an hour northeast of Santa Fe, is famous for it’s beautiful old buildings, but like so many small towns, there’s a kind of deserted feeling about the place. It makes me nostalgic for the days when little towns like this were bustling, and the plains were as yet not strewn with interstates, malls and Walmarts; a time when optimism about the future defined our collective psyche.
