Shaking Out a Loop

It’s June again, which means branding season.  Such a big job, and so weather dependent. Groups of ranching families will all brand together, each place using the same day every year, and then all going to those respective ranches to help each other as their “day” comes up.

In this painting, Darren is rebuilding his loop, preparing to go and bring in another calf.
You can’t brand if it’s wet, so there’s lots of sky-gazing….the cook with her 50lb pound roast and mountains of food, probably has the most at stake!  We had a good day on Saturday though… skies and lots of help, followed by famous hospitality and visiting.

If you’d like to own this original watercolour, email Gena with your bid today! Minimum bid $100 (plus gst and shipping). First bid, or highest bid wins the painting.

OMG Rosa, I am SO honoured. I’m going brag about this on Facebook today! AND I’m going to phone Darren (aka “handsome”) and let him know that he’s gone “international”! Thanks so very much. You hve no idea how encouraging it is to just have you LOOKing every day and giving me feedback…you AND Thea. Then when I see the other work you have to choose from I am truly humbled.
