Portrait of Painted Smile

I’ve painted this famous mare before, and am always amused by her dozy and laid back demeanour…when she’s “off duty”.  Look out though when the chute gate is cracked and it’s time to buck.  Conniption doesn’t begin to describe it!  She’s getting old now though and will probably retire to a big pasture on the Milk River Ridge, so pay attention if you get to see her perform this summer.

AH, so that is what the bucking horse looks like that Jeff named our cat after! I do see some resemblance to our cat, a white patch on the nose, other patches here and there, laid back, and dozy, and when she was really little, one look at us and she was off… I will have to show Jeff!
