This painting is from a photo I took out in the Cypress Hills, on the last golden day of last autumn. It was one of those perfect, golden, warm, radiant fall days that we only get 4 or 5 of a year. It must be angle the sun is hanging at in the south and the certain kind of dust in the air, but the light is radiant with colour, and every shadow is pink, violet, blue or green. Every leaf shines like a coin; the sky so blue, it hurts. On days like this, I feel it my duty as a human being, to ditch all my other jobs and get outside and enjoy.
