Laur’s Giants

For several years, my sister Laur grew the Russian Giant sunflowers, and let me say, they were gi-normous. They stand about 7 ft. tall, and as they mature their faces turn into a huge disc, their leaves the size of platters….they look like a scraggly row of lanky ruffians. When out in the yard, a person is inclined to have the feeling that someone is watching them!
As I’ve said before, I love sunflowers, but I’ve always stuck to the smaller, less stalker-like varieties.
