Jingle Dancer

I met this beautiful young jingle dancer @ a pow wow @ Fort Walsh several years ago.  It was a big Anniversary for the Fort and people came from all over to commemorate the history of one of the first outpost for the NWMP. Many First Nations People called the Cypress Hills home, including the Sioux of the Dakotas,  the Assinaboian Cree as well as many Metis people.

For the celebration there were reenactments of NWMP drills, tours of the fort with costumed guides, samplings of native and pioneer cuisine, but my favourite  part of the day was the native dancing.
