Does anyone else feel absolutely distressed and offended by the gargantuan power lines they’re installing across the prairies, or is it just me?  Maybe everybody felt that way when these ones went up about 75 years ago.  Maybe not though; everyone was probably pretty excited at the idea of electricity.  And now these old poles are so much a part of every landscape that we’re oblivious to them.
It’ll be a frosty day you-know-where when we’re blind to the monstrosities that are going up now….or maybe they won’t show up much amongst all the other sprawl and corruption we’ll have created by then.

I also have an obsession with the old telephone poles. I have drawn and captured them many times in my photos. The new ones are very geometric, and do hit one in the face.

Amen to that Gena. So much of our modernization is offensive. Have not thought of the old power poles much but will notice them from now on! Thanks for sharing this and for sharing your beautiful depiction of what we are missing.
