Garden in the Flats

Medicine Hat is so beautiful in the summer, with a city-wide devotion to and interest in maintaining gorgeous yards and gardens.  The area of town, known as “The Flats”,  one of the oldest neighbourhoods in town, is one of my favourite places to visit.  Here we find quirky older houses, quaint churches and  picket fenced yards. The rich soil of the river flat, along with the most hours of sunlight of any town in Canada  makes for some extraordinary gardens. I’ll bet those folks in the flats were out there all day today, planting their onions & spuds!
