OK, humor me with just one more aspen painting….this one with the same method as yesterday.
This elegant little clump is on the East & West Ranch, where my Grandad and his brothers came in 1896. These trees are almost at the top of the “bench”, the highest point in the Cypress Hills, and on the watershed for both the Missouri and the Hudson’s Bay systems. It’s comforting to go there and find this landscape pretty much as it was in 1896.
