Sand Hills Cow Skull

This old cow skull hangs beside the deck at my house, and the other day, as the sun went down, this is how it looked!  It’s white as can be, but I find it amazing the colour that white things become in certain light.
It’s so much fun seeing all those colours and values, shadow and light.

Bet that old cow never dreamt I’d be painting her skull several decades after her life was over

Fountain in Bordeaux 2

Here’s another element from that fabulous fountain in Bordeaux, France.  This Bacchus-like face is huge…like 30 feet across, and reigns over one end of the massive 2-sided fountain. So beautifully sculpted, energetic and joyous!  I had  many questions, but there was no-one to answer them….at least no-one who could cope with my school-girl French.
