This cat is truly a character, so it’s quite a good thing that she sleeps as much as she does….we’d need a butler to fulfill all the whims! But thankfully I get a break while she snoozes. This is her on her favourite blanket on the back of the couch. When it’s really quiet, I can hear her snore!

Pouncer
The weather warmed upn for a few days and Her Highness waas out playing “Jungle Cat
” and other games. It’s incredible how evolution has prepared these animals to hunt; like how these stripes blend with the grass, and how the face shape enhances her razor vision. Not usre of the value of the extravagance of tail….or how about that paunch?! I’m glad though that she has a good life, and wish the same were true for all animals.
Talking Possum
This cat has lost her marbles lately. After wakening me from deep sleeps last night because she figured she wanted to be out rather than in, she then spent the day imposing her will upon me as well! When I try to ignore her, this beseeching look along with loud plaintive wails, soon have me hustling to do her bidding. Not sure when she stopped being my cat and I started being her bell hop.

Let Me In!!
The weather has warmed up, so this pesky cat is in & out 14 times a day. If I ignore her, this is the sight at the kitchen window. Who can evade the intensity of that glare!?
I count my blessings though because it could be worse; my sister had a cat once who would jump straight up in the air and hit the doorbell when she wanted in. That was alright except that she mostly did it around 3 in the morning! At 3 a.m. this one is a snug in bed. Like I say, it could be worse.

Possum Patrol
Here’s this goofy cat, pretending she’s a valuable member of home security around here. Note the stalking lioness posture and the intensity of purpose. Funny thing is that once the temp goes below zero she seems to think she can conduct her surveillance from the comfort of the kitchen window.

Stare Down at Breakfast
This crazy cat has cabin fever! Her first trip into our new winter season was this morning, and she freaked! If I hadn’t opened the door, she’d have left a Wily Coyote style hole in it on her way through! So she stalks me, she spends time glaring out the window. . She chases her toys, and then when she goes missing, I’ll find a big lump under the covers in my bed!! This is the stare down I got while making breakfast this morning. It might be a long winter.

Over the Moon Kitty
Last night this crazy cat came in and sprawled on the rug at my feet in what I call her “Aren’t I pretty?” pose. She looks like she’s flying, complete with a kink in her tail. So I did a pen & ink sketch of her right then, and took a photo. Today I re-did the sketch on watercolour paper and made her jump over the moon. That’s the great thing about being an artist…you can even make your cat do things she has no intention of doing! SOLD

Mad Possum
Can you see that p.o’d look in her eyes, and the one cocked ear? She was camped out on top of the barbecue, one of her favourite roosts, and the magpies proceeded to harass her. It’s on-going around here, and so far the magpies win, hands down….or should I say wing tips down?

Wesley
Here’s an “almost daily” for you. This is Wesley, who a neighbour brought to me; he’d been wandering the hood for several days, apparently lost. I kept him for a day, then quickly off to the SPCA….another day with him & I’da been a goner! He loved to gaze into my face with this slightly daft expression, and his eyes are “off”, which only endeared him further! Absolutely adorable. However, Possum was outraged and there were some pretty explosive kitty fisticuffs happening. I will be checking in to be sure he gets a home….if not, I promised I’d come back for him.
