At the ranch rodeo in Nanton this summer, I ran into friends who used to live around the Hat. They’re now married with 3 beautiful kids, and are living and working on a ranch in Saskatchewan. I appreciated hearing about their lifestyle; they compete at ranch rodeos, home-school their kids, work with horses and Trent has taught himself how to braid with rawhide (notice her reins). I guess this could be described as an “alternate lifestyle” in this techno-culture we live in.
