This beautiful saddle horse belongs to my friend Alan, and is one of a remuda that he has bred, raised and trained at his place near Cochrane. Cactus is descended from the great cutting horse mare, Connie Kilobar.
Besides the breeding training etc, Alan probably built the bosal and headstall; for sure his saddle, as that is one of the things he does for a living.
Something I notice about many of my “western” friends, is how very handy they are at a huge array of things, and how many things they’re interested in and passionate about. Probably because they’ve designed their lives to take advantage of this beautiful place we call home.
