Burrowing Owl

Did you ever see anything so darling in your entire life?  How about that glowering stare, and check out the pantaloons. I adore the spotted get-up, and….well the  less said about those legs the better.

Burrowing Owls are not much bigger than a pigeon and they live right here in this area; wherever they can find old gopher and badger holes and a piece of native prairie. They live underground, and mimic the sound of a rattlesnake to scare off invaders. If you’re really lucky and really sneaky, you might get to see the whole household hanging out on their doorstep in the sun. SOLD
